Yumiko Matsui wanita kelahiran Osaka, Jepang berhasil menyulap kertas menjadi sebuah diorama yang menakjubkan. Ide yang awalnya muncul ketika paman dan bibinya membuat rumah boneka yang menjadi kado untuknya ketika berlibur di Jepang, kemudian Yumiko merasa bahwa hidup ini seperti miniatur, dan mulailah dia membuat karya-karyanya melalui media kertas. Karya yang dibuatnya berdasarkan tentang keadaan asli tempat yang di presentasikan melalui karyanya.
“I was doing bronze reliefs depicting the life of Saint Catherine and thought how cool would it be to create something entirely out of screws. I’d always wanted to work with screws, I got the idea and that was it. Six months later I completed my first piece.”- Yumiko
“The concept of my work could be expressed as "Feel as if you are here". If you had ever been to any of the cities I have created in miniature, you might actually feel sentimental!.”- Yumiko
“If you have never been to these cities, I want to give you a preparatory experience! I hope to provide small happiness and kindness to people through my art work.”- Yumiko
